We're thrilled to be featured by Developing Lafayette ahead of our opening — "Thibodeaux's, A New Cajun Restaurant Coming Soon To Former Original Patti Space in North Lafayette, LA."
The piece shares the story behind the restaurant: how Barry and I are building Thibodeaux's around a family name with deep roots in Acadiana, with a menu of seafood, steaks, oysters, étouffée, gumbo, burgers, po'boys, boiled crawfish and boiled shrimp — plus a large bar, live music and bingo, all centered on the food, music and culture of Acadiana.
It also traces the Thibodeaux name through the local food business: my father Troy Thibodeaux's years running the meat market at Winn-Dixie on Moss Street before opening Thibodeaux's Specialty Meats in the early 1990s, and my grandfather Rodney running the Winn-Dixie in Breaux Bridge before that. Barry is from Carencro and I'm from Church Point, and we both grew up with this food, music and culture as part of everyday life.
